Total in Vietnam

Total in Vietnam

Established in Vietnam in the early 1990s, Total Marketing & Services Vietnam now employs over 800 staff mainly for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), lubricants and retail activities.

LPG: on 1 July 2012 Totalgaz Vietnam completed the acquisition of Dai Viet Energy Company Limited, also known as Vinagas. As a result, Total now handles four brands (Elfgaz, Totalgaz, Saigon Gas and Vinagas) in Vietnam and has become a major player in the LPG market especially in the South.

Lubricants: Total distributes lubricants through its 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Total Vietnam Limited. This was the result of the acquisition of ExxonMobil’s Lubricants business in Vietnam at the end of 2009 and the resulting merger with Total’s existing lubricants business. The Total lubricants plant is located at the Go Dau industrial zone, close to Ho Chi Minh City.

Retail: Total also distributes petroleum products in Danang under its own trademark and is the only international petroleum company in Vietnam also operating as a distributor.

Through sustainable business operations, Total contributes to social and economic development in Vietnam. Since 2003, Total has sponsored for various projects such as school construction, provision of scholarships, community biogas projects and the installation of medical centres. Total also recently took part in a road safety program via the Voice of Vietnam traffic radio station.
